What is the greatest challenge in writing a book?

Time management, managing your job and writing is not easy, you just cannot ask yourself to write on weekends. A writer has to write when thoughts comes up not when you are free to write. Timing of creative thoughts is another issue, you are tired or busy in some other work and suddenly your mind comes up with coolest idea ever, you postpone it and finally when you sit to write something creative block returns! Everyone has same time like me and I can say I understand the priorities of my writing. So I can say writing is a necessity of my life.

How much research do you do before writing the book?

‘’Just Like That’’ is a love anthology and it’s inspired from the different lives of my friends, things, people, events which I observed since my school days to college life. For research I called, met my old friends and gathered information of what exactly changed the course of their life and transformed them into their current self. Also, being a good listener helps me a lot.

What motivated you to write the book “Just Like That”?

I always wanted to explore different angles of love, not just typical love story which includes different types of love. I observed people around me are not the same kind of people. Exactly in love, every lover has their own love story shaped by the choices they make in those crucial moments. So, I wrote three different love stories inspired from different categories of love and lovers. I experimented and came up with the Book of love: Just Like That. Especially Thanks to Mr. Shubhanand (Sr. Editor and Author at Sooraj Pocket Books) I admire him as my guru who not only taught me also helped me a lot to shape my words into a book and today I am here.

Can you tell us more about your latest book “Just Like That”?

“Every love story has a different angle, which one is yours?” This is the book of Love, friendship and betrayal. It is a love anthology where I kept three different kinds of love stories. Language is Hindi written in modern Hinglish style;

Chapter 1.NUKKAD WALA LOVE, Chapter 2. COLLEGE WALA LOVE & Chapter 3.LIFETIME WALA LOVE. In the book you will enjoy the three stages of love, starting from school age to college and from college to your career life. It will show you your own love story if you have or had any.

How did you came up with the idea of writing romantic fiction genre book?

Not exactly in Romance as I earlier mentioned my first short novel was in horror genre and even I want to try those entire genre which I am interested in. As Romance it is the easiest way to connect to the young readers like me, and I wanted to share my vision of love. I want to let the young readers know about various elements we ignore in our love, life and career as I have seen people to misuse their partner in the name of love. I have written what should be Love and the Lover. Also, I remind myself I have to write the stories which a common person can easily relate to, which is precisely the reason I started writing in romance genre and I am loving it now as I connect myself with the stories. Someday, I plan to write a fantasy children book series as I am big fan of fantasy books.

Who are your favourite authors?

I am big fan of Tarun Kumar Wahi (Hindi Comics Author) who has written a lot of Hindi comics including Bankelal and Doga, Satyajeet ray, Enid Blyton, J.K. Rowling. C.S. Lewis, Jules Verne and Tony Abbott.

How much time do you dedicate for writing on a daily basis?

It depends, there is no fix time for writing. I have to write whenever thought comes into my mind. I try to sneak a writing break in my busy schedule. Sometimes, I write entire day or night without looking at time and sometimes only for few minutes.

What words of wisdom would you like to give to aspiring writers?

Write, rewrite, delete a lot and be positive and confident in your subject matter, theme and research. Make sure you’re not writing for publishing your story, you are writing as you want to write something, publishing will become a part of your writing. So do not worry about publishing part. Keep Writing and Read a lot.
