Giles Darling

Giles’ works include one-act plays, a TV script for a civil engineering documentary, a short novel based on a film script Giles wrote many years ago, and two longer novels based on two screenplays that Giles wrote for two multi-episode TV shows. Recently, he's also published a pair of books about digital terrain modelling, and a guide on knowledge management in the workplace.

Giles was initially a civil engineer designing housing estate roads and flood prevention schemes in the UK, but he changed career in 2013 and until recently he ran a local shop in a Sussex village. Here he had an excellent opportunity to observe a wide range of people and, in between serving customers, he could plan and write his next project. Giles was also involved in local politics for a number of years and draws on this experience to create the less likeable characters in his stories.
