ROBERT GARY DODDS uncovered and wrote about Hamilton's ancestors’ pivotal roles in world-historical events for over a millennia, many forgotten yet impacting history. In this book, he brings their multiple stories to life.
DNA, geological, historical, and even topographic data evidence the Hamilton Clan’s earliest known ancestor, born in the 9th century. It evidences his descendent at the English Battle of Hastings in the 11th century, the Norman font of all British-born Hamiltons. Hear about Hamiltons from the 12th – 21st centuries, including the heir presumptive to the Scottish throne and the Hamilton champion of Mary, Queen of Scots.
Dodds evidences that Alexander Hamilton, a founding father of America, absolutely carries Hamilton's DNA, squashing suggestions by some that he does not. He expertly links America’s founding father to his modern-day namesake—both of whom shared a common ancestor—Scottish blood and the West Indies. Hear of the Aristocratic Hamilton who fought for the British against the Hamilton founding father, imprisoned by another future founding father. Follow the tragedy and story of a New World triangular slave ship voyage; and a 19th-century warrior Hamilton, a friend of Sir Winston Churchill and Rudyard Kipling.
Dodds culminates his book with the life and times of modern-day Alexander Hamilton. His Downton Abbey-style upbringing led to military service and inheriting a 26,000-acre Jamaican plantation in 1954, and estates in Scotland. This is the broad history of a family and the political, social, military, and business forces that acted upon them over 1,142-years.
His Grace, the Duke of Hamilton wrote the book's "foreword." The book's endorsed by HH Princess Olga Romanov
