Greg Hayes

Greg Hayes has been studying Martial Arts since 1971. Teaches how to feel Qi, not eye-based visualization. Sensing-seeing is done with your gut (Lower Dan Tien), hands, feet etc. Training is individually based and free of the limitations of different languages, religion, or culture; since ones own experiences of Qi are utilized to learn.

From 1980-7 under Grandmaster Wong Jack Man of San Francisco Jing Mo (the first person to complete all of the Northern Shaolin studies since World War II), using Lohan, Northern Shaolin, Hsing I (XingYi), San Ti Qigong and Nei Gung. Sifu Wong’s direct lineage can be traced to the Ching soldiers burning of Honan Shaolin Temple 1732 AD., when Monk Chi Yuan escaped and went to Shantung province.

Qigong is based on meditative martial Northern Shaolin Buddhist methods, Internal Iron Shirt and Internal Iron Palm in the Wide Circle of Kung Fu of Joseph Greenstein (The Might Atom of Ripley's and Guinness Book of World Records) in New York City and Berkeley from 1971-75. 1974-76 studied Yang style Tai Chi and Pa Kua (Ba Gua) at the Chinese Cultural Center, and 1982-85 Ba Gua Qigong and Circle Walks and Hsing Yi under Mr. ST Ying: in Berkeley.

From 1972-76 he trained with the renown healer Mildred Jackson N.D, author of the Handbook of Alternatives to Chemical Medicines, in herbs, diet, and aura readings. Other energy studies in Oakland: 1973-4 Hapkido with Master Minh, from 1974-79 in Shotokan, Goju hard style Qigong, and in 1976 Aido Samurai Sword under Master Samurai Takahashi. 1971-74; Berkeley Aikido Ki exercises empty hand, sword, and staff.

Sifu Hayes has taught Xingyi, Tai Chi, Qigong and Shaolin at: the Yoga Den in Juneau (now Rainforest Yoga), from 1991-1998; Juneau Public School's Community Schools, from 1991-2005; private lessons in Juneau, since 1995. He is the author book, Axe Hand; Hsing-i & Internal Strength Workout.
