My first writing job was as a reporter in the US Virgin Islands in 1978. After 10 years in journalism in the Caribbean, Micronesia, a stint working for the Saudis (but in the USA), and the wilds of Texas I got an MA in communications and went to work in Silicon Valley.

My second job while working in high tech was sailing, and for 10 years I was a charter bum sailing up and down the Windward Islands -- and once in Tahiti!

In addition to journalism, high tech, and sailing I'm also a fairly decent painter -- specializing, of course, in boats and the sea.

I don't have a favorite genre although alternate history has to be in the top two. I hope you enjoy reading my books as much as I enjoyed writing them.
