I grew up in a small town in Utah called Midvale. It has quite a history and at one point actually had three names. The post office was West Jordan, the town was called East Jordan and the railroad stop was called Bingham Junction. I moved a way for a while but my wife and I decided to move back to Midvale and raise our family here. My wife and I have been married for 43 years this next September, 2017. Our first date was at a drive-in movie right there in Midvale. We had a car load of kids and since I was very shy I had no intention of ever sitting next to Linda or having anything to do with her that night. My two nieces, who were Linda's best friends, arranged for this to happen. They sent me to the snack bar for snacks and when I returned they locked all the doors except the front passenger door next to Linda. They wouldn't let me in the car unless I sat next to her. It started raining part way through the movie and when we went to leave, the car battery was dead. I had to call my parents at 2:00 a.m. to come and get us from the movie. Linda I dated steadily after that and were married September 19, 1975. I am a live long member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I have held several callings in the church including Elder's quorum president, High Priest Group Leader, Young Men's President and others. I hated writing when I was younger but as I have aged I guess I have mellowed somewhat because now I thoroughly enjoy it.
