Christie Capps

Joy King (who writes as J. Dawn King and Christie Capps) is a Regency romance author specializing in Jane Austen fan fiction (JAFF) and Pride and Prejudice variations. Her stories feature beloved characters Fitzwilliam Darcy and Elizabeth Bennet in sweet romance narratives that explore alternative storylines, second chances, and deeper character development, along with a sense of adventure and mystery.

Since discovering Austen's work in 2012, Joy has written historical romance novels that appeal to readers who love witty banter, slow-burn romance, enemies-to-lovers tropes, and happily-ever-afters set in the Regency era. Her debut novel, A Father's Sins, was written while living in the Andes Mountains of South America.

A native Oregonian, Joy lives with her husband of 45+ years. When not writing feel-good romance and cozy period dramas, she enjoys travel and planning adventures of her own. Find her audiobooks on YouTube, connect on Facebook, or join her newsletter on her website for a free novelette.

Perfect for readers seeking: Jane Austen retellings, Pride and Prejudice sequels, Regency-era romance, historical fiction romance, Georgian/Regency England period dramas, sweet historical fiction, character-driven love stories, British romance, and Darcy/Elizabeth variations.
