Alyson Mountjoy

Alyson is both an author of non-fiction books and a novelist. As the parent of a child with Auditory Processing Disorder/APD, she she founded and still chairs the voluntary organisation, "APD Support UK" the only one in the UK and elsewhere to specifically share accurate information on the condition, support families and individuals affected by APD and campaign for wider recognition with the help of a team of like-minded trustees.

Alyson's first book on APD, "Can I Tell You About Auditory Processing Disorder," was written primarily to help children to understand APD and to know that they aren't alone, but it also provides useful information for parents to share with schools and other professionals. Her second book about APD, "Auditory Processing Disorder (APD): Identification, Diagnosis and Strategies for Parents and Professionals" has much more detail and was based on over 20 years of experience in this area.

"The Marlin Chronicles" is Alyson's ongoing series of novels. It combines supernatural suspense, mystery, horror, crime and romance, historical facts, tears and laughter, magic, and a touch of fantasy. "Mother of Marlin" is the first book in the series.
