David M. Grabitske (b. 1970), a native of St. Paul, grew up in Maryland during the National Bicentennial and went to high school in historic New Ulm. The son of a historian and a teacher, he also trained as a historian and in the business of nonprofits. He blends the practices of history's microprofessions and management scholarship interests to move the vast history enterprise forward. In particular he writes about the history of history work, practitioners past who helped shape history work, and how lessons earned by professional ancestors can be applied today.
