I grew up in Seattle, home to many great bookstores, rainy days, and strong coffee. I've always been a voracious reader and a writer. I devoured fiction growing up, everything from Tolkien to Ludlum to Kingsolver. My favorite book remains The Catcher in the Rye. Perhaps not terribly original, but a book that I can open to any page, at any time, and simply marvel at its genius.
The first book I wrote was a travelog about the honeymoon that my wife Lori and I took traveling around the world for 17 months back in 1990. We moved to Vermont after that trip, where we raised two sons. It was my experiences with coaching and parenting them through youth sports that led to my next book, a humorous look at that all-too-serious world. I also write a travel blog that can be found at www.rambleon.rocks which catalogs our travels around the continent in our Airstream trailer "Stanley" and around the world.
