David G Persons

David Persons was born into a Western New York farm family in 1943. One of six children, he struggled with religious issues after his grandfather's tragic death in 1953. He studied fundamentalism at Bob Jones University and Grand Rapids Baptist Seminary. Later, he graduated from Pittsburgh Seminary and earned a Doctoral degree from San Francisco Seminary. Awarded a grant to study spirituality in India, he sought to incorporate his expanded ideas into a traditional mainline church in Hamburg, NY. Retiring in 2009, he soon became attacked for his non-orthordox beliefs. Surviving several hearings, he wrote and published "Finding My Way Home" to help clarify his journey for himself and others. David continues to write, speak and learn as he shares his ideas of an broader and universal spirituality. He dialogues with Humanists, Atheists, Agnostics, "Believers" and any who will listen! He presently is writing another book on "Finding the Lost Jesus." Living in Hamburg, NY, he is supported by his wife, 4 children, 10 grandchildren and numerous friends.
