Abilio Guerra is an architect, master and Ph.D. in History, IFCH Unicamp, associate professor of FAU Mackenzie where he teaches both undergraduate and graduate courses. With Silvana Romano Santos, prof. Guerra created Romano Guerra Editora and Vitruvius, where he coordinates the Editorial Board of the scientific magazine Arquitextos (São Paulo, ISSN 1809-6298).
He exhibited the installation Cidade and his double in Art Cidade 2 The city and its flows, curated by Nelson Brissac, 1994. Prof. Guerra was one of the coordinators of the Urban Rivers Workshop (São Paulo, 2003). Special coordinator of the Debates Forum, he participated in the 3rd, 4th and 5th editions of the Biennial of Architecture of São Paulo BIA, promoted by the Biennial Foundation of São Paulo / Institute of Architects of Brazil (São Paulo, 1997, 1999, 2003 ). Prof. Guerra was also the Brazilian organizer of the 10 th edition of the International Forum of Architecture (Quito, Ecuador, 2009). He was a Brazilian jury member and delegate of the 5th, 6th and 7th editions of the Iberoamerican Biennial (Montevideo, 2006, Lisbon, 2008 and Medellín, 2010). He curated the exhibitions Brazilian architecture: living in the forest (Instituto Tomie Ohtake, 2010) and Contact Territory (with Marta Bogéa, Sesc Pompéia, 2012). A prolific writer, prof. Guerra has articles published in Brazilian and foreign journals and is the author of the book O primitivismo in Mario de Andrade, Oswald de Andrade and Raul Bopp. (Romano Guerra, 2010) and co-author of the book Rino Levi - architecture and city (with Renato Anelli and Nelson Kon, Romano Guerra, 2001). In addition, he was the organizer of several publications, among them the two volumes of the Basic Texts on the History of Brazilian Modern Architecture (Romano Guerra, 2010).
His work has been awarded several prizes: Cica Special Prize of The Jury 2014 (1st place, International Committee of Critics of Architecture), Jabuti 2014 (1st place, Brazilian Chamber of Books), Author Book 2014 (1st place, Anparq), Jabuti 2013 (2nd place, Brazilian Chamber of Books), Theoretical Production 2013 (1st place, IAB-RJ), Jabuti 2011 (finalist, Brazilian Chamber of Books), Nikolaus Pevsner 2007 (finalist, Royal Institute of British Architects), Publications 2006 (honorable mention, IAB- SP), Publications 2006 (1st place, IAB-SP), Urbanity 2003 (with Silvana Romano Santos, IAB-RJ), Publications 2002 (1st place, IAB-SP). Scientific Article 2016 (honorable mention, Anparq), Scientific Article 2014 (honorable mention, Anparq), Cica Awards 2011 (honorable mention, International Committee of Critiques d'Architecture). He was awarded the 2009 Architect of the Year award (Special Prize, National Federation of Architects and Urbanists - FNA) and as Professor he was honored by the graduating a class several times (2014, 2012, 2008 at FAU Mackenzie; 2003 at FAU Unimep).
