Susan is always up for an outing--traveling, seeing new places and things, and having interesting experiences (like creating a crisis with military police swarming a hotel where she had left her suitcase unattended). She loves gardening and enjoys animals--especially wildlife sightings. Her favorites are bears and foxes.

Growing up in Massachusetts, she then attended college in Illinois, graduating from Wheaton College with a BA in English and Teaching, and a MA in Interdisciplinary Studies-Christian Education. Susan is now pursuing a PHD at Denver Seminary.

At Wheaton, Sue met her husband, Perry, who was preparing for a commission into the Army. Their assignments led them to many places including TX, GA, IL, HI, WA and IA. Each place offered many new adventures which Sue enjoyed experiencing with her husband and three children. After the Army, they retired to Colorado where Sue worked in the local school district. Susan and Perry are now both retired and residing in Arvada, Colorado. They have three grown and married children and five grandchildren.

Sue has published a book of devotions ("Everywhere I Look, God is There") about finding God in everyday places. She has also published a book ("Can You Hear God Now? How to Journey to a Deeper Relationship with God") that explores ways to interact with God in personal ways. Survey results from more than 600 respondents, from many different religious backgrounds, form the basis for the book, along with numerous inspiring and moving stories shared in the survey results. In addition, Sue writes weekly devotions for her church and has published devotions in both online and pamphlet-style devotion books.
