Stephen Robert Katz

Stephen Robert Katz is from Massachusetts, born in Ware and raised in Winthrop.

A lawyer by profession, he taught international law at the University of Wales (U.K.), then became a practicing attorney in Boston. Subsequently, he had a 26-year career with the United Nations, serving in Vienna (Austria) and New York, as well as in the former Yugoslavia, where he was the head legal adviser to the UN’s peacekeeping mission during the war in the Balkan region.

Although his United Nations career took him to places far from his New England roots, he has retained an affection for Ware and an interest in its history.

Stephen and his wife reside in New York City.
