Leonard is a writer and editor particularly engaged in the charity and philanthropy spaces.
He inspired the launch of Philanthropy Age (philanthropyage.com) an influential not-for-profit magazine title and digital platform dedicated to encouraging and informing intelligent giving which immediately became a grantee of the Gates Foundation thanks to its success.
He was also the Editor-in-Chief of 'How to do Good – Essays on Building a Better World' featuring an array of international thought leaders, philanthropists, celebrities and foundation heads, as well as some ordinary people doing extraordinary things. The book’s author and speaker tour has now played in Oslo, Stockholm, Brussels, The Hague, Paris, London and New York, the Emirates Airline Festival of Literature in Dubai and the York Festival of Ideas.
Leonard is the author of two biographies of England rugby union players: ‘A Whole New Ball Game’ with Phil De Glanville, and ‘The Quest for the Ultimate Grand Slam’ with World Cup winner Mike Catt. In the 1990s he was also the author of international best-seller ‘The Good Condom Guide’, which was translated and published worldwide.
His most recent books have been for Expo 2020 Dubai, a series of four paperbacks on the future of people, the planet, innovation, and on the future itself (2020).
