Thank you for visiting my Author Central page. It's taken five years to complete my second novel, AN ACCIDENTAL LOVE STORY. Although it deals with the sensitive issue of losing people we love, and longing to still feel their presence, it has a happy ending.
What if it were possible for a loved one to return to a current lifetime to fulfill a promise of love? Romance and mysticism are intertwined in this story of a relationship with ties to their past, and an obsession to find the truth. The story was inspired by a connection to a woman I'd never met, and the May-December romance that brought this mystery full circle. Although characters and family details are fictionalized, surreal events occurred as described. Two professional psychic mediums helped me find a resolution.
I have offered two covers for my first novel LOOKING FOR LEO. My guess is that you will gravitate to one more than the other.
When I designed the cover with the astrology chart, locket and butterfly, I hoped the heart-shaped locket would project the feel of a love story, and that the butterfly would project hope, though as you read LEO you will understand the deeper meaning of the butterfly. Astrology has helped me to understand myself and accept others.
Then there is the other cover. The gentleman’s farmhouse on the cover was once owned by my close friend, the late Dr. Brian J. Silverlieb. Brian owned a veterinary practice called Mount Pleasant Hospital for Animals, which is immortalized in this novel. He named his farm Amberfield after his beloved Sheltie, and although circumstance of the main character’s attachment to this home is fiction, my love of my good friend and his enchanted home is real. The details of the cement planter, the curvy brick walk, the iron horse head beside the front door are visible. What the reader cannot see, at least until reading this story, is the charming character of this home once you begin Jill’s journey to find LEO.
Whether you read this book out of curiosity about the zodiac, to find yourself behind the scenes of a veterinary clinic, or in search of a love story, you won’t be disappointed. I was a veterinary nurse for over twenty years and can read astrology charts with surprising accuracy. I decided to write a story about dating one man of every sign of the zodiac because I’d be lying if I didn’t admit that part was true! LOOKING FOR LEO is a positive story about looking for love and finding oneself. I believe sometimes we need to make our own dreams come true, and that there are many roads to happiness.
