Fiona E Whelan

I am a medievalist who focuses on the construction of social behaviour and codes of conduct in the twelfth and thirteenth century. I have written the first monograph on the medieval author Daniel of Beccles and his text entitled Urbanus Magnus or The Book of the Civilised Man. In addition, I have published journal articles, conference proceedings, and essays.

Beyond my academic research, I also write widely about undertaking a PhD and career paths following the doctorate.

I am from Ireland and currently live in Oxford in the UK where I continue to research and write about all things medieval and PhD.
