Martin Ian Smith

Martin Ian Smith is an independent horror comics writer and published scholar of horror and censorship. He has been creating and selling comics for more than a decade, working with artists from the UK and US on stories ranging from Lovecraftian horror to psychological terror.

His academic work includes published research on horror and censorship, including Researching Historical Screen Audiences with Kate Egan and Jamie Terrill. His PhD was a history of the landmark 1973 horror film, The Exorcist.

His comics have been featured and reviewed by independent comics and genre publications including Starburst Magazine, Down The Tubes and Brutal As Hell.
