Christian Russo

Christian Russo lives and works in Turin, Italy. He has been involved in Japanese martial arts since 1992 — as a practitioner, then instructor, scholar, and collector of ancient texts and kakushi-buki, the concealed weapons of the Japanese tradition.

His research spans the historical and technical dimensions of martial arts: the binding techniques of hojōjutsu, chain weapons, the vital points of the body, and manuscripts from the shinobi tradition. He has edited and translated original texts, contributing to the dissemination in Italy of otherwise inaccessible material. In 2023 he founded Kinshinden, an independent dōjō where Shinobi Dō is practiced — a synthesis of Jūjutsu, traditional weapons, philosophy, and tactics.
