Katherine Baldwin is a relationships coach, midlife mentor, author, journalist and motivational speaker. Through her coaching, speaking and writing, Katherine helps people to break free from self-sabotaging patterns in their relationships with themselves and with others so that they can form healthy, loving relationships and create fulfilling lives.
Katherine's work draws on her personal experience of hitting the wall and her subsequent journey of transformation. A former international journalist who travelled the world with British prime ministers including Tony Blair, Katherine found herself single, lonely, lost and depressed in her late 30s, albeit with an impressive CV. She burnt out in her high-profile job, broke down and quit her news journalism career, after coming to terms with the fact that she'd been managing intense anxiety, low self-esteem and chronic imposter syndrome for several decades by binge eating, binge drinking and compulsively working.
After some time on her knees, Katherine turned everything around. She healed from destructive behaviours, recovered from an eating disorder and learned to love and value herself. She changed her career, reconnected with her creativity, first through blogging and then through writing books, moved to the Dorset coast, built a coaching practice and fell in love with an emotionally available man. Katherine and Bill married in June 2019.
Katherine spends her time writing her next books, supporting her coaching clients, walking on the beach and swimming in the sea. She runs 'How to Fall in Love' online courses and retreats, based on the 10-step journey outlined in her book, and coaches 1:1 in the areas of love, dating and relationships, self-love, wellbeing and overcoming self-harming behaviours, and career transformation. Through her midlife mentoring programmes, she supports people to reconnect with their authentic selves and their true passions and build their confidence and resilience so they can make major life transitions, follow their heart and fulfill their dreams.
Katherine writes lifestyle features for magazines, newspapers and online publications and has been widely published in the UK media, including in Red, Psychologies, The Sunday Times, The Daily Mail, the Guardian, The Daily Telegraph, Good Housekeeping and Easy Living. She blogs for Psychologies magazine and has appeared on TV and radio, including Newsnight, Radio 2 and Radio 4's Woman's Hour.
She has a diploma in counselling and psychotherapy skills from London's Westminster Pastoral Association and is a graduate and fellow of the School for Social Entrepreneurs.
