Patricia A Chenoweth

Patricia A. Chenoweth lives in Barnegat, New Jersey, where she currently owns and operates Hidden Creek Farm, living out her passion as an equestrian by training, boarding and breeding horses.

Before starting this endeavor ten years ago, Patricia was a high school social studies teacher for thirty-two years, during which time, she engaged in the hobbies that would eventually lead her to write her debut book; Saddam’s Horses.

Patricia started writing three years ago, after being inspired to write Saddam’s Horses years earlier, after watching a news broadcast in late 2004, that showed Iraqi men leading horses out of the Palace stable.

When the newscaster reported that the horses, some of the most valuable in the world, would probably end up on the dinner plate that night, Patricia was horrified.

So, after mourning the fate of those poor, beautiful horses for the rest of the evening, that night, Patricia dreamt of a different ending for the horses; a happy ending.

Saddam’s Horses is carefully constructed to tell that story.

When Patricia isn’t writing, or tending to the horse inhabitants on her ranch, Patricia enjoys riding her horses, one of which, Xeena, is featured on the cover of Saddam’s Horses, reading, traveling, spending time with friends and cooking.
