Zsofia Pasztor was born and raised in Hungary and immigrated to the US in the late 80s. Her passion for a healthy Planet was a call she followed when she became a horticulturist, arborist, an urban agriculturist and permaculturist. She is an award winning landscape designer, college faculty and expert consultant who encourages people to stop, look around and see more than just the immediate stuff surrounding them.
She shows her clients and students the hidden and small things under foot and above the head: living beings, critters, fungus and plants, LIFE, that makes our only home, Earth, livable for humans.
Her writings reflect her core mission - education, sharing of information, enables everyone to be a true steward of the environment.
Zsofia lives with her husband and children in the Pacific Northwest. She is one of the founders and the executive director of Farmer Frog, a non-profit organization, growing food and community in edible gardens in the city, at and nearby schools. They also help individuals to create their own food gardens and stormwater management systems, such as rain gardens.
