Richard Bramwell

Richard Bramwell is Senior Member, Wolfson College, University of Cambridge. His research focusses on black British popular music and culture. He has given talks on performance poetry, twentieth century literature, education, urban studies, hip-hop, and grime.

Richard is co-editor of the Cambridge Companion to Global Rap. The book's 18 chapters guide readers through the history of this global phenomenon, focussing on the most exciting new developments and approaches in the study of rap music and culture across the world. His first book, UK Hip-Hop, Grime and the City, reveals the aesthetic and cultural dynamism of London's multi-ethnic emcee cultures.
