Deborah L. Flaherty-Kizer is a congenital heart disease survivor on a mission to help those living with heart disease. She volunteers with WomenHeart: The National Coalition for Women with Heart Disease, the Adult Congenital Heart Association, and Mended Hearts. Now retired, Deborah formerly worked in telecommunications for over 15 years. She jumped at the chance to take an early retirement package, enabling her to be a stay-at-home mom. Teaching at her local parish school became a second career once her two children started school. She resides in Guilderland, NY, but considers herself a Bostonian since that's where she grew up. She lives with her husband, Keith, and dog, Kovu. Her grown children, Colin and Abby, are out making their marks in the world!
