Tim Murr

Tim Murr founded and runs the horror publishing house St Rooster Books with his wife Stephanie, who the art director/house illustrator for St Rooster. The imprint has released books by award nominated authors/critics’ favorites, like Paul Lubaczewski, Thomas R Clark, Lamont A Turner, Villimey Mist, Reed Alexander, and Ryan C Bradley. As an author, Murr has written The Gray Man, Motel on Fire, Neon Sabbath, My Skull is Full of Black Smoke, Thirsty and Miserable: A Critical Analysis of the Music of Black Flag, and more. He created and maintains the horror culture blog Stranger With Friction and contributes to Diabolique Magazine and is editor in chief of Stranger With Friction, the literary magazine. His fiction encompasses horror, weird horror, crime, and a style he calls Avant-Noir, a term he coined as shorthand to describe the surreal, nightmare novella Conspiracy Of Birds. Jeffery X Martin (Hunting Witches, Black Friday, Parnham's Field) described Motel on Fire, as "short exploratory surgeries, deep cuts exposing the stinking, poverty-stricken heart of hell.
