I have always been an avid reader, especially historical fiction. My imagination runs wild as I read. I have led Precept Bible studies for over thirty years, and realized one of the obstacles my students had in studying the Bible was they could not relate to the Bible characters as real people, just like them. They saw them as special; that is why God could use them, when in fact they were just like us-flawed and sometimes unfaithful. That is when I got the idea to write a series of books based on the covenants God initiated with imperfect people to illustrate His plan of salvation. I always have had a great imagination, so I put myself into Abraham's sandals and wrote his story. I thought about the discarded Leah and her favored sister Rachel and how they contributed to God's plan for salvation. I imagined their pain at experiencing rejection and childlessness. History is merely the story of real people with the same desires and needs we have. I hope these books will help others relate to the Bible in a meaningful way.
