Sue was born in West Australia in 1945. She came to America as an infant with her war bride mother and her American father. They made their home in Southern California.
Sue has been drawing for most of her life, with the encouragement of 2 artistic parents. Unfortunately, a serious injury cost her the use of her right hand for 5 years. In 2015, she took up adult coloring which became 'not just a pastime' but a passion.
With the encouragement of her online friends (artists and colorists), she began drawing again. Her first detailed drawing in many years was 'The Scarecrow' which became the foundational picture for her first coloring book, entitled 'Living On Memory Lane'.
Sue's beloved husband, Pastor Ed Curry, grew up on a dairy farm in the Central Valley of California. Ed memories of that 'way of life' and Sue's many years of researching her own family history helped to inspire the drawings for her first coloring book. Sue currently resides in Selma, California with her beloved 'hubbie'. Living right in the heart of an agricultural community added its own inspiration to her work.
Drawing from an early 1900's perspective, this 71 year old artist is hoping to bring back fond memories for older folks and give youngsters (say under the age of 50) a chance to see life as it was on 'Memory Lane'.
In Sue's second book entitled 'The Adventures of Little Sister', you find a loving (often amusing) look back at a little girl who is inspired by Sue's kid sisters who were total opposites. One was every bit the proper, little girl; and the other was a fearless adventurer and tomboy.
Sue's most recent book 'Adventures with the Country Cousins' is a larger book that contain even more original drawings and 26 chapter storybook about 2 city kids who spent the summer on a farm in the country. Each chapter has its own drawing. Their lives are changed, as they become concerned for the animals and people on the farm.
