Sonia Panigrahy

Author Sonia Panigrahy created "Nina the Neighborhood Ninja" out of a lifelong love of reading. Sonia was surprised that she could not find books for girls that realistically identified females as intelligent, tough, brave, and adventurous. After unsuccessful attempts to find a young girl superhero in a book, especially one of color, she gave up. Then she created her own.
