Nancy Petrey

Nancy Petrey (1939 - ) grew up in the small town of Luverne, Alabama, got a music degree, taught school, married her childhood sweetheart Curtis, who became a preacher, and she became a music minister in his churches. They had four children and 17 grandchildren. After 56 years of marriage, Curtis “graduated” to heaven in April 2016. In 1995, God had called Nancy to be a Mizpah for Israel and to teach the church about its Jewish roots. She studied modern Hebrew, taught Israel awareness classes, and led missions to Israel. She obtained a Master's degree in Religious Education in Middle East History in 2004 and began to teach community Bible studies. She has been to Israel nine times. She has authored nine books, all Bible based. Her most popular book is "Why Christians Should Care About Their Jewish Roots," (2015). It is only 40 pages long and should be required reading for every Christian, especially pastors (now in hardback). Nancy is the pianist for her church and continues to teach the Bible and emphasize the importance of prayer and support for Israel and the Jewish people. Nancy's 7th book, but her first novel, a Christian historical romance - "Family Secrets: Divine Destinies" - was released August 2, 2021. The story is set in 1997 at Mississippi State University. Four college students, three of them Jewish, explore their Jewish roots and have many adventures as the setting changes to New York and then Israel. Answers to prayer and God-incidences abound in the narrative, which is not only inspirational, but educational. In the sequel, "Family Secrets 2: Double Destinies," which was released February 2022, the two couples have a double wedding. This book was soon followed by the third novel of the trilogy, "Family Secrets 3: Prophetic Destinies," released August 17, 2022. The main theme of the second book is outreach ministry. The third book continues the narrative of the two college couples and adds an Israeli man who teaches them Hebrew and helps them advance their call to move to Israel. The latter two novels feature musical concerts in Europe and then in Jerusalem. In all three novels biblical and historical teaching is interwoven with a story of adventure, uncovered family secrets, danger, and answered prayers.
