Rod Goelz

Rod Goelz is a musician, published author and music teacher who has “gone international” with his music and teaching methods. His innovative “QuickStart Guitar" Method has gotten notice from The Associated Press, who called Rod a “Six-string surgeon,” and earned Rod a Grammy nomination for music education. "QuickStart Guitar" is the author's ninth published method book.

A native of York, PA, Rod has been mentoring musicians and making great music for more than 26 years. Rod studied at the famed Berklee College of Music and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music Industry Studies from Millersville University.

Rod has taught guitar, bass, mandolin and ukulele to hundreds of musicians, and he is credited for his ability in helping beginners realize their goals, enjoying music from the very first lesson to taking advance players to the next level. Rod’s background and understanding of all styles offer something unique and valuable to every musician. He believes that the best way to learn an instrument is to play with others from the first day. Rod’s “QuickStart Guitar” Program is the FUTURE of music education—an entire series of classes, levels, and curriculum that takes the student from have no experience to someone able to play in a real live ROCK BAND. Known for his involvement with such diverse bands such as Paradise Movement and American Hollar, Rod is also the co-founder of Groove Jones, and most recently, Boompop Coalition. He is the man be Boompop, a small but growing musical movement of groove, rhythm, improvisation, melody, and style... to be outlined in a future work.
