Robert Zeller

Robert Zeller is a visual artist, writer and curator, who has written about art for the Brooklyn Rail, Sothebys, National Gallery of Victoria in Melbourne, Australia and many other publications, online and in print. These include two books for the Monacelli Press, an imprint of Phaidon, "The Figurative Artist's Handbook" (2017), and "New Surrealism: The Uncanny in Contemporary Painting" (2023). His third book, "Witty and Macabre: The legacy of Symbolism, Expressionism and Surrealism in Contemporary Belgian Art" will be published by Schiffer Books in Spring 2027.

Zeller has given lectures and moderated talks at Rizzoli Books and Lyles and King gallery in NYC and Gagosian Gallery in Beverly Hills, CA. He has been interviewed for article on Surrealism for The New York Times and CNN. His books have been reviewed by Colossal, MutualArt, Hyperallergic, Juxtapoz, and other online platforms. In addition to solo and group shows of his own artwork in New York, Zeller has curated group exhibitions in New York City and Europe. In October 2025, "A Mysterious Vision", a show Zeller curated for Robilant + Voena in Milan, Italy was rated a "Must See" by Frieze Magazine.
