Robert Zeller is a visual artist, writer and curator.
Zeller has written about art for the Brooklyn Rail, Sothebys, National Gallery of Victoria in Melbourne, Australia and many other publications, online and in print. These include two books for the Monacelli Press, an imprint of Phaidon, "The Figurative Artist's Handbook" (2017), and "New Surrealism: The Uncanny in Contemporary Painting" (2023). His third book, "Witty and Macabre: The legacy of Symbolism, Expressionism and Surrealism in Contemporary Belgian Art" will be published by Schiffer Books in Spring 2027.
He has given lectures and moderated talks at Rizzoli Books and Lyles and King gallery in NYC and Gagosian Gallery in Beverly Hills, CA He has been interviewed for article on Surrealism for The New York Times and CNN. His books have been reviewed by Colossal, MutualArt, Hyperallergic, Juxtapoz, and other online platforms. Zeller was profiled for both his writing and art in Whitehot magazine.
