Michael Carabetta

Michael Carabetta is Creative Director Emeritus of Chronicle Books, a San Francisco-based publisher. His work has received recognition from AIGA, the professional association for design, and has appeared in a variety of design publications.

He has conducted design workshops and lectured at design schools and universities across the country, and taught design at California College of the Arts (CCA) and University of San Francisco.

“Words To Ride By”, his first book, represents his abiding interest in literature and his avid pursuit of cycling – and the bicycle (he has six and counting). He makes his home across the Golden Gate Bridge in Marin County, birthplace of the mountain bike.
