Mar Mesas

My name is Maria del Mar, although my works the publish under the name Mar and I am from Baza, province of Granada (Spain). I started writing poems in 1996 because Mercedes, our literary teacher encouraged us to introduce ourselves to a poetry contest that called the institute. I did not know how to start the poem, but I remember that I closed my eyes and let the inspiration do the rest of the work.

Years later and after finishing my studies of economics I enrolled in the psychology course but I made a parenthesis in my studies to give way to motherhood. My two daughters were born; Lucia and Irene and with them was born the illusion of telling stories when we went to sleep and look at their faces when the ferocious wolf wanted to eat Red Riding Hood and not only read the classics but those that the imagination allowed me to tell about....

And that's how I started my literary adventure in poetry, stories and children's stories.
