Tricia Gabbitas

Born in Halifax, Yorkshire, Tricia Gabbitas began writing at 13 while at school and has never stopped. As she says “Poetry is my passion”. To date she has written over 1,000 poems, many for use in greeting cards and for some time she wrote for various card manufacturers. Her original verses cover not just the occasions and events in life but also include commentary on all manner of things, often in an amusing way! For many years she produced her verses on bookmarks and small cards to give away and also small poetry books to raise funds for various charities. Over the years she has given hundreds of poetry cards to friends, particularly ones to help after a bereavement.

Tricia branched out with a few short stories and then life took a different turn when she composed the words and music for 20 Gospel songs and produced a CD. All her work comes under the banner of “The Gift” to acknowledge the gift of writing that she received from God.

After chatting with friends Tricia realised that her life had been less than ordinary and that led to her first book, her autobiography titled ‘The Truth about Tricia’ A life touched by love, lies and betrayals, murders and miracles! She's written a book of short stories and a small book of holiday anecdotes with her husband.

Trained originally as a secretary, Tricia ultimately retrained as a craft teacher before retiring happily to Spain with her husband Tony who is the inspiration behind hundreds of her poems.
