Sjoerd Mol

Sjoerd Mol is a venture capital lawyer at Benvalor and co-author of Venture Capital Deal Terms: A Guide to Negotiating and Structuring Venture Capital Transactions.

He is also the author of Startup Funding: All About Venture Capital and How to Raise It, and co-founder of both Molo Academy, an e-learning platform on venture capital and Capital Waters, a documentation platform for startups and investors.

With more than 20 years of experience in venture capital, Sjoerd began his career as an M&A lawyer in 2003 before focusing on supporting founders and investors in startup financing. He is passionate about helping entrepreneurs who take risks, fail, get up, and try again — those who defy convention and make a real impact.

When he’s not negotiating term sheets, Sjoerd enjoys hiking, running, tennis, home-cooking, and board games with family and friends.
