Tamsin Winter is a multi-award-winning author who writes fresh, funny and heartfelt fiction for readers aged 10+, and is "fast becoming a favourite for young teens" (The Observer). Tamsin grew up in a Northamptonshire village where she spent her childhood reading books and writing stories. She studied English Literature and Creative Writing at university, and has worked as an English teacher for over 20 years.
Tamsin's debut novel Being Miss Nobody won multiple awards including the Awesome Book Award, the Brilliant Book Award, and the Leicester Teen Fiction Book of the Year. Jemima Small Versus the Universe was shortlisted for the Waterstone's Children's Book Prize and nominated for the Carnegie Medal. Girl (in Real Life) won the Booklings Award 2022 and is "an astute, timely look at the impact of online life and forging your own identity" (The Bookseller). Bad Influence has been shortlisted for multiple awards including the 2024 Reading Rampage.
Tamsin's latest book, I Dare You, recently won Peter's Books Teen Fiction Book of the Year and the FAB Book Award 2026. It was The Observer's YA Book of the Month: Winter is "bitingly astute on the lure of social media and the dynamics of friendship in this warm, poignant read for younger teens". It has also been shortlisted for the Spark! Book Award and the Girl's Day School Trust Book of the Year. Tamsin lives in rural Leicestershire with her son and her cat. She is currently working on a brand new series for tweens which will be out in 2027.
