Chad Goodwin was born in Weatherford, Texas in 1983. He lost his father, Mike Goodwin, to cancer in 1988. He was raised by his widowed mother, Dorinda Goodwin. Chad is the grandson of the late author, Russell Goodwin and the nephew of author, Clint Goodwin. Chad married his junior high sweetheart, Dawn Goodwin, when they turned 18 shortly before graduating high school. After high school, Chad worked in the housing industry as a custom mirror and shower glazer. He decided to work in the IT industry and worked his way into a government contracting company where he was able to become a certified database programmer. During this time he and his wife had their son, Brody Goodwin, in 2007. In 2013, Chad was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis, and became a stay-at-home dad, who home schools his son during the day and writes horror fiction at night. Chad enjoys reading horror books and watching sci-fi and horror films. His favorite author is Dean Koontz, who inspired him to begin writing. Chad is an avid marksman and archer who loves long range shooting. He is also a motorcycle enthusiast, who enjoys riding with his wife through the winding hills surrounding his local area.
