Davina Chessid

Davina Chessid writes about the gap between insight and action, and about the recurring patterns that keep people stuck. She is the author of Food Crazy Mind and The Self-Help Journaling Method.

Her work began with a desire to understand her own struggle with binge eating and emotional eating, and evolved into a broader exploration of the recurring challenges that often resist change, including procrastination, perfectionism, negative thinking, avoidance, and other self-defeating behaviors. Through years of journaling and self-reflection, she developed a structured writing process for understanding the forces that keep people stuck.

Drawing from her own journals and experience, Davina writes about the often-confusing gap between what we want to do and what we actually do—and how greater understanding can help us move forward.
