Robyn Ann McKenzie

Robyn discovered her love for storytelling at a young age, drawing up storyboards for plays she put on with her dolls before she knew how to read or write. She published her first poem at age 11 and was featured in the anthology "Best Poets of the '90s" at 13. That same year, she won 3rd place in a youth writing contest hosted by the Disney Corporation.

She began to post stories online and amassed a fanbase, with one story getting over 1.5 million hits. Her readers urged her to publish a novel, so in 2016 she published "Daughters of Ashby," followed in 2020 by the sequel "Dodatrad Heiress."

Robyn uses her online platform to mentor young writers in over a dozen countries. She is a member of Portland Writer's Group, Washington County Writer's Workshop, and Portland Women Writers. She is also a trombonist in many local bands, performing music around the Pacific Northwest with her husband, Matt, who plays French horn/mellophone.

Other interests include Renaissance Faires, pirate festivals, sailing, coin collecting, firearms and swords, decorating her knee-length hair, photographing her cat for Instagram (HerRoyalPurriness), and randomly cackling in the kitchen as a "coffee mad scientist."
