Nancy Gail Smith Mattox

Nancy served as President/CEO at a large Credit Union in Jacksonville, Florida where she served for over 25 years. During her 35 years of involvement in the credit union movement, Nancy has had the opportunity to help many members reach their financial goals and has gained extensive experience in credit union management. Nancy brings 35 years of financial experience in diverse areas of financial services with banks and credit unions.

Nancy retired from Seaboard Credit Union in Jacksonville, Florida where she managed the credit union from 1979 until 2004. The credit union grew to $150 million in assets and 25,300 members during her tenure. She attributes her success to God, her understanding family, her fabulous credit union staff and an aggressive guerilla marketing plan.

Nancy has been honored with two national credit union professional certifications, the Credit Union National Association’s award of the Certified Credit Union Executive (CCUE) and the Credit Union Executive Society’s award of the Certified Chief Executive (CCE). Both certifications are renowned in the credit union movement and require master level classes.

Nancy has worked as a contract employee for Get Success Publishing since August -2013, as the National Marketing Director. Having published 2 books, “My Credit Union Story” and “The Art of Marketing”, she has brought more than 65 new authors to GSP in 1.5 years. As a consultant at GSP, Nancy was instrumental in the turnaround of a Faith Based Credit in Augusta, Ga. United Neighborhood Federal Credit in Beulah Grove Baptist Church (mega church with 5,000 members) by growing the credit union with 454 new members and $250k in assets in 8 months. Nancy acquired approval from the National Credit Union Administration for UNFCU to become Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI).

Nancy has utilized her financial experiences to create new credit unions, get CDFI certification of existing credit union, hold training workshops to the underserved Americans and financial workshops regarding the Tax Code Changes and financial empowerment to the underserved Americans.

Nancy and her husband, Rusty, have been married for 44 years and have 1 son, Duffy (37 years old) and his wife, Stacy, and 2 grandsons, Jace (11 years old) and Broc (9 years old).
