I hail from South Florida (but without the excessive FLO-GROWN nomenclature that seems all the rage these days), a son to two Cuban immigrants who came here in search of a better life and wound up in New Jersey,... hmmm - before landing in warmer latitudes. Having worked as a technology professional for 15 years and a digital marketing executive for another 8, I often find myself in weird places, both career-wise and in generally orbiting the fringe of social and professional circles I can only hope to relate to as flotsam skipping the edge of a well-tuned, corporate whirlpool. In past, part-time adventures I also tried my hand at commercial diving, fitness equipment repair, satellite communications technician and my favorite,... bar-tending. If Jack existed, he'd have nothing left to trade I'm afraid - stolen by me during summers and bummers between 'real' jobs (you know, the high paying ones that make you want to climb in a washing machine filled with nettles and do CrossFit). Writing for me is fun, but penning seems only to germinate in periods of boredom or excessive peril (like when you're about to lose your job,... or maybe you lost it already), crossing off days from the calendar - sometimes at a frenetic pace as if pursued by Elder Things,... sometimes spanning vast oceans of apathy where not a word is wrought, I'm a weird, lazy little bird, I know. In general (and for the sake of normalizing the profile exercise), I enjoy exercising, going out to eat (though paleo seems to get the better of me and the worst of restaurant menus), working on Creative Technologist projects that typically involve building online marketing machinery of the most devious designs, and various other nerdery, while relaxing with my wife Veronica and our sons, Ace and Fox (oh, and our three-legged dog, ShoShi - pronounces SH-OH-SHEE and our other derpling canine Tango). I also like playing piano (when I get the chance these days), composing/recording short songs on various DAWs, and serving as the Chief Creative Technologist for my current company - its name witheld for now to protect the normal and the innocent. ;) My favorite movies are ALIENS (The Director's Cut) and Fallen, with Big Jake not far behind. I often read the Bible early in the morning to remind me just how temporary all the rest of this is, and to force me to pay attention to it more and love those around me better. I have read 'At the Mountains of Madness' over 20 times, and it still freaks me out.
