Louise Harris

Louise Harris aspired to write since her youth. She published her first poem at age 12 and wrote stories in her youth. She graduated from the University of Maryland College of Journalism and became an editor to pursue her dream. Currently, she is a freelance journalist and novelist. The 1776 Scroll of Secrets is her first novel, and The 1776 Bed and Breakfast is her second. Her third title is The 1776 Musket. Louise is past president of the Howard County Chapter of Maryland Writers Association and is a former chairwoman of MWA's Program Committee. She also served as secretary of Society of Professional Journalists Maryland Pro Chapter. Currently, she is the president of the Bay Area Professional Writers Guild Inc. She won the Editor’s Choice Award for Poetry and is named in the book of 2007 Best Poets by Poetry.com. Her poems are featured in BAPWG's Sink or Swim: How Overcoming Obstacles Makes Life Worthwhile, published in 2016. She also edited that book and formatted for publication. She has ghostwritten and edited numerous books for clients. Louise lives in St. Petersburg, Fla. with her husband, three children and cats.
