Maria Mannone

Maria Mannone has Masters in Theoretical Physics, Conducting, Composition and Piano (Italy), and in ATIAM at IRCAM-UPMC Paris VI Sorbonne (France). She studied at Accademia Musicale Chigiana di Siena. Her compositions have been performed at "Festival delle Orestiadi di Gibellina" and by the Orchestra Sinfonica Siciliana. She achieved her Ph.D. at the University of Minnesota. Her research is about connections between music and musical gestures, mathematics, and forms from nature. She’s author of “Dalla Musica all’Immagine, dall’Immagine alla Musica,” and co-author of “Cool Math for Hot Music” and “All About Music.” Her most recent books are "Mathematics, Nature, Art," published by Palermo University Press, and the anthology "Simmetrie fra Matematica e Musica" (she co-selected and co-translated the articles of the latest one).
