Ann Kallal, artist. I have always enjoyed drawing. Entering the newly emergent Internet in the late 1990s, as a cautious retiree, I created an online presence under the name Maggie Ross Dogs (utilizing our family pets' names). Today, my art and the Maggie Ross Dogs identity is incorporated into the titles of my Coloring Books as well as on several print-on-demand websites. I also publish under my name as Ann Cothran Kallal . . . bringing my Scottish heritage to the fore, as I have created designs featuring Highland Dance and Castles of the United Kingdom as an enlargement of my Dog designs. My heritage includes many creative people: architect Grandfather, engineer Father, very artistic Mother. All of my life, drawing was my entertainment and my way of making things "my own" when I had no way to actually possess those things. Horses were a particularly favored subject! As an adult, I went to work as a secretary, eventually employed by an international Airline, as travel had been another lifelong interest. I visited countries all over the World, still drawing, painting, creating; but for myself and for family gifts, never for commercial purposes. We had computers in the workplace, and eventually at home. Years passed and my airline career ended. I became a home-maker in the suburbs with children and pets. Enter the New Millennium . . . after painting a portrait of one of our family dogs, I tried out the latest addition to our home electronics and scanned the painting into our computer, then printed a copy to give to a friend. My friend admired the quality of that print and suggested I explore selling prints of my paintings in the "new" online venue of eBay! Print-on-demand followed. My creation of drawings and design art is still for my enjoyment, and I still create paintings. Now that I am in my eighties, sitting in a comfortable chair, I utilize much appreciated electronics for drawing with my stylus on a computer tablet screen; and sharing my art commercially with a wider Online World. I do not use AI, haven't really had the time to explore it. It is interesting to view what people have produced with that technology; but I am content and enjoy creating what I create!
