Amanda Seibiel

I don’t like labels, but if I had to define myself, I’d say I’m a “weird” woman, and I love being that way. When I wrote my first book, I didn’t tell anyone, except my husband. Today, I have several published novels and three books of short stories, all of which have reached number one in sales. I still remember the first time I saw it—it almost gave me a heart attack. Despite these achievements, I don’t enjoy praise, nor do I think I’m better than anyone else. I’m brutally honest, so much so that I can sometimes be uncomfortable to others. I admit it.

I enjoy making others happy; some call it a gift, others a curse. I don’t know what envy or hatred feels like—I simply don’t waste a single moment of my energy on people who don’t deserve it. If you don’t like me, don’t read me, but don’t criticize without knowing me. Instead, pick up a book, dive into its pages, and find your happiness.

My safe haven is the sound of the sea, my dogs are my infallible cure, my family is my driving force, and writing is my freedom to create unique worlds. My husband, my son, and my father are the three pillars of my life. I always miss my mother; I know she would have been my best agent and my biggest fan. I give thanks every day for a new sunrise, for the life I have, and for every chance to live my passion.
