Celeste Newbrough has written two novels (The Zanscripts, The Angel of Polk Street); a collection of short stories (Unspent Motion); a novella (Child with Pierrot); and two books of poetry (Pagan Psalms, The Archetype Strikes Back). She also co-edited with Stan Rice an anthology of poetry (The New Eye). Her works have received praise from Muse (Human Rights Quarterly), Kirkus, the San Francisco Chronicle, the Bay Times, and many other reviewers. Her poems, stories and essays have been featured in many literary, feminist, and LGBT journals. She co-edited DISTAFF: A Southern Women's Journal, and currently co-edits Nightwood Journal, an on-line LGBT literary journal. She was born and raised in New Orleans and lives in Berkeley, California with her wife, Ilona, and dog, Sara.
