Dr. Frances Downing Hunter is an accomplished writer and the author of the award-winning book of poetry The Sanguine Sunrise that displays her insightful knowledge and brilliant use of imaginary in a superb manner. It was this talent that enabled her to become known as one of the foremost authorities on the poetry of Nobel Prize-winning songwriter Bob Dylan and to become a contributor to books written on Bob Dylan, including the recent Dylan: Disc By Disc. Her edited anthology Professing Dylan is a collection of essays by noted professors on how they teach Bob Dylan in their college classes. Dr. Hunter was an Associate Professor in Literature and Creative Writing at Arkansas State University in Jonesboro. She is also the author of a collection of short stories which like her newly-released novel Delta Ridge were released posthumously. Dr. Hunter received her PhD in English from Ole Miss, a MFA from the University of Memphis, studied at Oxford University in England and at San Miquel in Barcelona, Spain. She maintained homes in Jonesboro and Gerrys Ferry, Arkansas, and in Memphis, Tennessee, which she shared with her husband, Dr. Frank Adams, M.D. and her loved poodle, Odie.
