I'm a part-time writer who lives in Minnesota and enjoys hiking, reading, thinking, playing games, sailing and throwing the ball for my feisty mutt, Loki. I'll cop to being peculiar. Questions like -- "Why don't howler monkeys hitch rides on the backs of tapirs?" -- often occur to me. Just imagine a whole herd of stampeding tapirs with howling monkeys on their backs. Now that would be something!

I enjoy imagining things from different perspectives like what it would be like to be a pike and explore the depths and wrecks of Lake Superior. I often imagine going back in time and learning what the history books got wrong (a lot, no doubt). I'd love to steer a trading ship along the shores of the ancient Mediterranean and peek in on various events.

When not daydreaming in this fashion, I like to pen fanciful adventures with gender-twisting themes. These kinds of stories do have a strange energy that can make mundane events seem vivid and extraordinary.
