Rob Kortus is a recipient of the prestigious Mom’s Choice Award (Gold Level) for both children's books When Dog Pals Fly Across America and When Dog Pals Fly Across Point Nemo. Rob is a retired Coast Guard helicopter pilot and Advanced Master Dog Educator and Trainer. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Professional Aeronautics and a Master of Arts in Organizational Management. As a highly experienced helicopter pilot and dog trainer, Rob has created educational and delightful children's books about his personal canine companions as the characters fly a helicopter in both stories!
Rob's first book, "Invisible Paw Prints" was written about his therapy dog Sophie visiting adults and children who are battling illnesses. You will feel the positive energy that Sophie the border collie brings into hospitals and nursing homes and how a therapy dog can make a significant difference in often-grim situations. Rob founded the non-profit Invisible Paw Prints, Inc., located in Charlotte, NC. Should you desire to become a therapy dog team, visit invisiblepawprints dot org for details.
Rob is now retired and resides in Lenoir, NC. Unfortunately, Rob lost all three Dog Pals in a two year period. The loss was painful but he is very grateful to have had the quality time with each one. Sophie lived to 12 years, Sulley five years, and Wallace four years.
