With a genuine multicultural background from Mauritius, ‘Sinjonjo’ was raised and nurtured in the wilds of Southern Africa’s Zambezi Valley. Conversational in several African languages Gilbert's fluency in English, French, Swedish, Portuguese, and Creole reflects his life on five continents.

The Author was kidnapped by mai-mai rebels in the DRCongo, he escaped a missile attack in Sri Lanka and constructed cholera camps and health facilities in disaster zones.

Prior to this he dived the Quirimbas Archipelago in Mozambique, the Bajuni islands of Somalia, and surveyed the ancient fresh water dams of Mauritius as a commercial diver.

In Australia, he smoothly transitioned into emergency humanitarian aid work in hotspots and disaster zones. Known by his radio call sign ‘Delta Papa’ led emergency humanitarian efforts by boat and land to help Liberians and child soldiers in rebel-held areas during the civil war.

After a brief hiatus from the aid sector, his foray into the realm of artificial intelligence has prompted him to shift his focus to illustrating books with an African theme. His objective is to craft visually captivating narratives that not only stimulate young minds but also foster worldwide comprehension and compassion. He dreams of a prosperous and united Africa.
